Ultimate Strength is a one-to-one strength training gym in north London. The director is Yoram Sher, a qualified fitness coach and sports therapist with over seventeen years of experience. Yoram trained and qualified as a strength training coach at Kieser Training, a major Swiss company specialising in strength and muscle training with an emphasis on lower back strengthening and rehabilitation.

I have been training at Ultimate Strength for just under 4 years. I was new to the field of strength training when I joined but now I could not live without it. My goal was to completely change my body shape as despite doing a lot of cardio and losing some weight because of it I was no longer seeing changes. Through strength training I am not only stronger but I am more toned and lean and find that I am able to control my weight more easily. In spite of an ongoing back problem for the past thirty years, strength training has benefitted me enormously. Yoram is a dedicated and inspiring trainer who instills confidence and the desire to improve and meet new challenges. Being the wrong side of 60 and having read that 'muscle strength' wastes away the fastest I decided to go [on recommendation] to Ultimate Strength. Yoram has tailored each individual exercise with each piece of equipment so that if I don't go to him twice a week I actually miss the 'challenge' of seeing if I can improve the number of 'reps' he sets.
I have been training with Yoram for about ten years and he's the only trainer that has made me feel obligated to attend his sessions. And that is because I could see such a difference in my stamina and strength - and also because I have managed to drop a dress size!! I have to admit that I don't always want to train, but then I leave feeling revitalised, and know it's been so worthwhile.

Yoram's distinctive training format is more scientific and engaging, allowing you to see and feel the difference on a session by session basis. The closely monitored, self challenging approach makes the training sessions pass quickly - which for me makes this style of training so appealing. What distinguishes Yoram from many other trainers (apart from the actual exercise regime) is his extensive background knowledge of the body and fitness matters. Training with Yoram does not feel like the chore that one often associates with going to a gym. It is enjoyable, satisfying and rewarding- and different from any other form of training that you will have previously encountered.
Having had major shoulder surgery I came to Ultimate Strength at the suggestion of my physiotherapist. In consultation with my therapist, Yoram designed a programme that enabled me to re-establish the strength in my Rotator Cuff and because of that I was able to get back to playing tennis much faster than I had expected.
